NEW FILM: ‘ITO’


Nana Komatsu and Masaki Suda on screen reunion

Nana Komatsu and Masaki Suda will be co-stars again in ‘Ito’ (Yarn) a new film directed by Takahisa Zeze (The Chrysanthemum and the Guillotine, The Lowlife, Heaven’s story). Filming will go from July to September* in various locations: Tokyo, Hokkaido, Okinawa and Singapore. National release: 2020. *more scenes will be shot this winter.

The film is based on and inspired by Miyuki Nakajima’s song ‘Ito‘. It tells the story of people who met and fell in love at the beginning of the Heisei Era (1989-2019), parted and then met again at the end of the same era. Director Takahisa Zeze said it was difficult to convey what was in that song but added he found two people who had the determination, the delicateness and the courage to do it: Masaki Suda and Nana Komatsu.
