On Tuesday 7, actress and model Komatsu Nana attended the Chanel show on the last day of the Fashion Week in Paris. Chanel put her at the center of the event as she was the heroine of a short film, Black and White Landscape, directed by world famous photographer duo Inez and Vinoodh.
For over 24 hours (since March 6 in the afternoon), Komatsu Nana‘s portrait and successive announcements for the teaser then the movie (see The Face of Chanel and Chanel x Nana Komatsu, The Movie on this blog) were displayed on all Chanel sites, worldwide. In the kingdom of fashion, this was no doubt a very significant breakthrough for the young House Ambassador. The actress (27) attended in the company of her husband, Japanese actor Masaki Suda. Before the show started Chanel released a special movie, directed by famous photographers Inez and Vinoodh, starring the Japanese actress.

The film withstood decades thanks to its signature fashion style and the work of director and photographer William Klein. The story follows a young model from the States living in Paris, back then played by Dorothy McGowan. Global exposure for actress and model Komatsu Nana as she has been chosen as the face of Chanel for their 2023/2024 ready-to-wear collection, to be presented next Tuesday (March 7) at the Paris Fashion Week. A teaser was released on Sunday 5 and the full movie, directed by renowned photographers Inez and Vinoodh, will be revealed on Tuesday.
Nana Komatsu was appointed House Ambassador for Chanel by the late Karl Lagerfeld himself back in 2015, she was just 19 then. As such, she could officially represent Chanel at official events which she did on several occasions in Japan and Taiwan. The actress is the first Japanese star (and the second Asian celebrity, after Korean singer and dancer Jennie) to enjoy such promotion from Chanel.
