Promoting Vogue Girl 2019

On March 13th 2019, in Tokyo, actress and model Komatsu Nana participated in a promo event for the April edition of Vogue Girl Japan. The press conference was held at the Harajuku Quest Hall in the company of Vogue Girl Chief Editor Watanabe Mitsuko.

Hear Her Out

“Always a pleasure to work with Chanel, always a pleasure to work with Nana” wrote photographer and director Julien Birban Lévy in a tweet announcing his new short film on Thursday May 19. The French artist who often uses Tokyo, Paris or New York as base camps previously worked with actress and model Komatsu Nana on several occasions, especially in 2016 for the short film There is no Tomorrow.

This time he put his efforts into ‘Hear me out‘ a short film clip for Chanel and Madame Figaro Japon. Duration: 2’48 – Soundtrack: Who’s it gonna be by Suo – text by Salomé Kiner (French).

Yomei 10 Nen DVD on July 22

Director Michihito Fujii‘s latest opus The Last Ten Years reached Japanese theaters just a couple of months ago on March 4, yet it will be released on DVD and Bluray on July 22 and available on digital format as soon as June 24 ! Usually, it takes about 6 months (sometimes more) for films to be released on physical disc formats but surely Warner Japan wants to build on the momentum of the movie’s remarkable success.

Box Office Hit: Yomei10nen/The Last Ten years entered the charts at #1, topped the box office for three weeks in a row and remained in the top ten until it stopped being screened on a nationwide basis, bar a few selected theaters and some special events, on May 12. With a gross revenue of nearly 3 billion yens (about 23.5 million USD), it has become the number 1 live action film in 2022.

Two different editions of The Last Ten Years will be issued: a standard version and a premium version (see below for some details), both on DVD or Bluray, all of them are already available for pre-order from various online stores. Bluray Premium: Amazon Japan – DVD Premium: CD Japan.

Shiseido Yesterday and Today

As of today, actress and model Komatsu Nana has become the image and figurehead of the Beauty Time Machine campaign for worldwide famous cosmetics brand Shiseido. Shiseido (株式会社資生堂) is the biggest cosmetics company in Japan, founded in 1872, it is also one of the oldest companies in the world. This ‘time machine’ campaign will last until December as the brand celebrates its 150th anniversary.

Over the years, Komatsu Nana has appeared in countless commercials as an ambassador for Integrate, the make-up division of Shiseido (see related posts on this blog: Integrate tag) but she also promoted the brand as a whole on many occasions. In January 2022, she was part of a series of clips celebrating the brand’s anniversary: 150 Years of Shiseido. In this post you’ll find a selection of much older campaigns.
