“It’s the idea of a Japanese woman in Paris, with a spirit of light-heartedness and freedom. In the way she moves in the video there is a sense of wonder, a sense of displacement and belonging” (Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Design Scene)
Everywhere to be seen on the walls of Le Grand Palais in Paris, on display on each and every Chanel site all over the world, actress, model and Chanel House Ambassador Komatsu Nana was at the center of the brand’s show that took place on Tuesday 7. Before the show started Chanel released a special movie, directed by famous photographers Inez and Vinoodh, starring the Japanese actress.

“Inez & Vinoodh masterfully took on the legendary Who Are You, Polly Maggoo? from 1966. The film withstood decades thanks to its signature fashion style and the work of director and photographer William Klein. The story follows a young model from the States living in Paris, back then played by Dorothy McGowan. For the session the set design was specially created to envision the apartment of the film’s star” (from Design Scene)
