Chanel’s Japanese Camelia

Two weeks after the Chanel show in Paris (Paris Fashion Week, ready-to-wear 2023/2024 collections), actress, model and Chanel House Ambassador Komatsu Nana still is Chanel’s Camelia ! Articles, interviews, TV reports continue to flow at least in Japan, which hardly comes as a surprise since it was the first time a Japanese citizen got such international exposure at a fashion event.

Nana Komatsu, Elle Japan Interview

‘Modelling, which I started at the age of 12, is a free form of expression. Aside from having to make clothes look beautiful, modelling allows me to express what I am asked to express in front of the camera in a very natural and instinctive way. In each shoot, the model is a short-range athlete, so to speak.’

‘It’s a bit different from working as an actress. Actresses have to constantly change and improve. These two jobs – modelling and acting – complement and enhance each other. I think it’s by combining them that I am inspired and continue to grow and develop.’
