Parasite in Love, a film adaptation of a best-selling novel written by Sugaru Miaki, will hit Japanese theaters on November 12. On Wednesday September 29, director Kensaku Kakimoto attended a preview at the Wald 9 Cinema in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Co-stars Nana Komatsu and Kento Hayashi, the two leads, also went on stage to welcome the audience and answer a few questions.
The two comedians said they were impressed by the director’s mastery of CG for the movie’s special effects. They also talked about the shooting which ended just before covid impacted Japan. Talking about his co-star, Kento Hayashi said he didn’t expect Nana Komatsu to be that easy-going and cheerful because of the image he had of her: cool and calm.

“It was difficult to express scopophobia (…) there was a part of me that shrank away from other people, and the headphones were also Hijiri’s armor, so there were a lot of things to think about, like how to deal with them. It was a difficult role” Nana Komatsu.
